History

The Laboratory of Social Advertising was founded in 2002 by Guzella Nikolayshvili on the basis of the Public Policy Division of the State University - Higher School of Economics.
Creation of the Laboratory came as a response to the increased public demand and growing interest in the social advertising phenomenon.

Since 2005 the autonomous non-profit organization “The Laboratory of Social Advertising” started work as an independent entity.

Achievements

2002 – 2005 – running an extracurricular course on social advertising for the International Youth Summer School “Practice on the Baltics” (Kaliningrad, Yurmala, St. Petersburg), held by the Department of Public Policy of the Higher School of Economics. During the curse 152 students from 11 regions of Russia and 3 countries – Poland, Germany and Austria, were trained.

2003 - The Laboratory of Social Advertising has received grants and implemented 2 training seminars on social advertising supported by a program of Project Harmony, Inc. (USA). We received 63 applications from 20 cities of 3 CIS countries (Russia, Ukraine, Belarus). 35 people were trained, 32 of which passed on-line testing successfully and were awarded Certificates.  

2003 – 2009 - The Laboratory organized and held 46 training sessions and seminars on social advertising in 20 regions of Russia. 

2005 - 2009 – organization and running 18 social projects, including five federal social advertising campaigns. The Laboratory has received 20 awards of the Russian and international advertising festivals.
